There are two types of HASPS:
Parallel: This connects to the parallel port at the back of your PC. If you have a printer, the HASP goes between the PC and the parallel printer.
USB: Connects to the PC's USB port.
When a USB HASP is plugged into a laptop docking station running Windows 2000, the operating system assigns the drivers to the docking station USB port. If the USB HASP is then plugged into the laptop, Windows 2000 fails to recognize the device. To fix this, the application must be installed with the USB HASP already inserted into the laptop's USB port.
